Position Summary

Arts & Science is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director, Faculty Affairs to join the Human Resources Team. The Assistant Director primarily manages a variety of faculty related administrative processes, including the annual merit increase process, as well as the faculty leaves and sabbaticals. Develop strategies for managing and reporting data related to faculty appointments, both academic and administrative. Review the Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment disclosures for faculty and recommend approval or other courses of action to Deans. Develop, implement, and disseminate various Arts & Science and University policies, procedures and guidelines, while also updating policies, forms and procedures to ensure faculty affairs processes are streamlined and efficient.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years relevant professional level experience developing, analyzing and interpreting faculty policies at the university level including strategic organizational planning, resolving complex faculty policy-related issues, administering budgets and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills with an orientation toward legal issues. Demonstrated ability to negotiate solutions to complex and/or sensitive problems.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with mainframe information systems such as human resources management systems.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
