Come Join an Inclusive Team The PhD Chemist will be part of a team of researchers supporting an analytical laboratory focused on polymer testing and characterization. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing analytical methods including spectroscopic methods, wet chemistry methods, and other methods as assigned. The researcher will act as an analytical chemistry subject matter expert to support internal and external customers. LyondellBasell's Cincinnati Technology Center (CTC) houses research and development facilities supporting LYB's North American polymer business and Circular and Low Carbon Solutions polymer business. CTC labs perform polymer testing and characterization, polymer processing, and catalyst system development. A Day in the Life * Develop, maintain, and optimize analytical methods in spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and other analytical techniques as needed. o Focus areas include - Gas Chromatography (GC), Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Mass Spectroscopy * Provide analytical chemistry subject matter expertise to internal organizations such as product development, application development, and manufacturing. * Collaborate with other research teams, laboratory associates, technical service, manufacturing, procurement, and external partners * Lead and/or participate in project teams * Executing plans and work to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable results and safe outcomes for the organization, employees, and customers * Identify and implement analytical research projects to support business strategy and value creation You Bring This Value * PhD in Chemistry or closely related field. * 0-10 years of experience in analytical laboratory research and development or closely related field. * Experience with multiple analytical techniques including Chromatography, Spectroscopy, thermal methods and other relevant methods Preferred Qualifications * Background and experience in Polyolefins is preferred. * Experience with identifying unknown species What We Offer Competencies Build Partnerships Deliver Results Drive Innovation Grow Capabilities Promote Inclusion Motivational Fit Technical Skills Learn more about our benefits:Benefits/Health & Welfare \| LyondellBasell Stay Connected!
