Mechanical Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Mechanical Technicians to join our client's team in Warren, Michigan. In this role, you will support critical operations in a controlled environment, performing setup, testing, maintenance, and process checks to ensure reliability, quality, and safety in advanced manufacturing.

• Perform all required tasks related to equipment setup, operation, cleaning, testing, and process checks to ensure consistent functionality
  
• Work in a controlled clean room environment while wearing required protective equipment
  
• Utilize Job Instruction Training processes to grow skill sets within the team
  
• Mix chemicals (liquids, powders, gases) to specified recipes
  
• Perform scheduled equipment maintenance and required cleaning
  
• Observe equipment functionality and troubleshoot issues as needed
  
• Maintain records of work performed, analyze data, and report results
  
• Recommend revisions to laboratory processes
  
• Document best practices in battery cell manufacturing processes through standardized work instructions
  
• Use data collection to drive process improvements through corrective action
  
• Identify and eliminate operational waste using Lean manufacturing tools
  
• Apply problem-solving techniques to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
  
• Maintain good housekeeping, safety practices, and inventory of supplies
  
• Coordinate and exchange findings with engineering personnel outside the work group
  
• Properly dispose of material waste in compliance with safety standards
  
• Actively participate in team and group Business Plan Deployment meetings
  
• Coordinate testing, builds, and preventive maintenance activities with stakeholders and support teams to ensure on-time completion
  
• Vet incoming work requests to ensure equipment and hardware resources are in place to support tasks
