POSITION OVERVIEW:
Plan, direct, develop and implement effective communication strategies, initiatives and programs for the achievement of business and culture goals. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Select, train, develop and motivate a professional communications team 2. Oversee the development and execution of communication plans and strategies that support FedEx Freight business needs and reputation 3. Collaborate with business stakeholders in advancing a culture of innovation and excellence 4. Serve as communications leader for team and business partners. Develop and sustain relationships with key business partners, team members, vendors, and/or key members of the media, local government, economic, civic and cultural organizations. May serve as company spokesperson 5. Ensure that messaging aligns with business objectives and ensure communications reflect the company's culture and brand 6. Draft, proofread and edit communication materials ensuring all materials are accurate, produce the impact desired and meet brand and legal standards 7. Provide guidance and approve messages for internal communication channels, including content for intranet, digital signage, and printed materials 8. Oversee public relations efforts including, but not limited to: VIP visits, community events and new facility openings 9. Oversee crisis communication programs and reactive media relations 10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures 11. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field. Master's Degree preferred, plus Five (5) years work experience in Corporate Communications (Internal and/or External) * Demonstrated leadership skills. Previous management experience preferred * Advanced writing, editing and proof-reading experience * Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations, with ability to interact with all levels across the company and manage vendor relationships * Excellent time management, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills * Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook * Strong verbal, written, presentation and communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the organization * Ability to work independently and as a team member WORKING CONDITIONS: * Must be able to travel Preferred Qualifications: Pay Transparency: Pay: Additional Details: FedEx Freight is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
