Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a Crescent's reports and statements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
  • Preparing and filing documents
  • Entering accounting related information into business logs
  • Inspecting account books for efficiency and accuracy
  • Organizing and updating financial records
  • Recommending ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
  • Performing monthly bank settlements
  • Preparing documentation for auditors
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Keeping management informed of financial status and developments within the company's financial structure
  • Improving job knowledge by keeping up-to-date with new financial regulations and accepted practices, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks


Requirements:

Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP

Advanced MS Excel skills

Accuracy and attention to detail

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree

Qualifications
Experience
3 years: Experience as a Staff Accountant or a Similar role (preferred)
