POSITION OVERVIEW The Associate Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager is a critical role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, with a specialized focus on ensuring robust Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance and best practices. This role champions a proactive safety culture, drives environmental stewardship, and ensures regulatory adherence across all site operations. This position will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and controlling HSE and process-related risks to protect employees, the environment, and company assets. - Ensure compliance relating to all state and federal regulations established for our business unit's employees and existing equipment
- Oversee and lead required safety inspections, PM's, etc. within our comprehensive HSE database (GSTEMS)
- Develop, mentor and guide plant safety teams
- Actively participate in site safety committees
- Lead facility regulatory safety training and maintain required training records
- Lead new employee safety orientation training sessions
- Positively influence and develop site safety culture through Safety Leadership 2.0 and Human and Organizational Performance principles
- Support partially or in whole, the health and success of Murfreesboro's Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP) and Fryer Safety Management (FSM) programs:
- Pillsbury Anhydrous Ammonia PSM Program
- Pillsbury Anhydrous Ammonia RMP Program
- Pillsbury Ethyl Alcohol PSM Program
- Pillsbury Doboy (Strudel Department) Fryer Safety Management Program
- Pillsbury Jingle Department Fryer Safety Management Program
- Reinforces and motivates adherence to processes and standards (PSM, FSM, RMP, RAGAGEP, etc.) without compromise
- Must possess the ability to deliberately engage and coach team members and partners to help them grow and safely deliver results
- Demonstrate rigor and leadership in bringing discipline, standards, and governance to Murfreesboro's safety programs
- Demonstrates tactical leadership skills to ensure regulatory compliance, program adherence, and process rigor
- Assist with Worker's Compensation
Environmental
- Ensure compliance relating to all state and federal regulations established for business unit's employees and existing equipment
- Maintain and enhance a comprehensive Environmental Management System
- Manage the environmental-related audit processes to ensure compliance
- Lead and manage sustainability efforts
- Manage chemical handling and associated state and federal reporting requirements
- Coordinate environmental training
- Disseminate environmental expertise throughout the plant organization through special training activities and by identifying best practices
- Lead/support all phases of environmental related capital projects within the desired scope, schedule, and budgetary guidelines
- Provide project management leadership interfacing with key stakeholders. Partnership with maintenance, operations, and support departments in the execution and analysis of project efforts
- Actively participate in corporate wide environmental activities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Health, Safety, and Environment (or related field)
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office, Maximo, GSTEMS and SAP
- Knowledge of safe work practices (LOTO, confined space, hot work, PSM)
- Knowledge of environmental programs and permitting processes
- Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $81000.00 - $121700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
