Description

UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Research Investment Analyst to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provide analytical support for UDR's investment strategy and market intelligence initiatives. Upkeep and enhance investment predictive analytics. Create and maintain new analyses, workflows, and dashboards to underpin strategic initiatives and support UDR's macro, market, and property level knowledgebase.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director - Research & Investment Analytics

Position will have indirect reporting and exposure to the Senior Vice President - Investor Relations, Investment Analytics

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Maintain and improve upon predictive models for market, micro, and property level performance.
  2. Support the development and maintenance of analyses used for investment and strategic decisions, and used to underpin the macroeconomic, market and industry knowledge base of the UDR team.
  3. Upkeep and improve upon visual representations of database outputs that are accessible by all UDR teams through ArcGIS, Power BI, etc. to make the Company more efficient and make our findings more actionable.
  4. Provide support to analytics end-users. Support UDR's investment teams and help with ad-hoc requests as needed.
  5. Maintain and organize market-related research and communicate findings as appropriate to executives and management.
  6. Learn the nuances of UDR's main external and internal data sources. Build out knowledge on available data sets, data providers, analytics methodologies, etc.

  • Strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to manage workload, to develop efficient and effective processes that impact the entire organization, and to communicate with executives, managers, and associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, smartphones, and computer applications. Skilled in the use of spreadsheets, relational databases, and word processing software. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.
  • Understanding of analytics and predictive models with macros and complex formulas and functions. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex ideas and maintain focus on value creation objectives.
  • Ability to travel when needed.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive data input and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Occasional travel may be required. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  1. Bachelor's degree or combination of equivalent experience required. An emphasis on mathematics, accounting, finance, computer science, real estate, or economics preferred.
  2. A demonstrated interest in real estate and/or quantitative analysis.
  3. Two years of practical experience in analytics or market research (or equivalent course work).
  4. Knowledge of analytics software required - some combination of Alteryx, Python, and R.
  5. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products required, including Power BI.

Salary Range:
* $95,000.00/yr. - $120,000.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
