Apply Today Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Day Shift or Night Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM 2-2-3 rotation (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days; then alternates) Pay rate: starting at $22/hr Position Overview A Toolmaker Apprentice is responsible to support Class A and Class B toolmakers in mold cleaning, mold set-up tasks, and light machining. The person in this position is working through continued education to become a toolmaker. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Assist in scheduled and emergency tooling repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, cleaning and mold set-ups. Perform machining operations under the guidance of toolmakers to support tool room activities and schedules. Recommends changes to mold designs to improve life of assets and output of assets. Knowledge and understanding of toolroom practices and fabricating techniques. Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to: Company and facilities policies. Safety-Use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules. Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs)-Methods for performing work Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOP)/Good Housekeeping Standards. Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues. Ability to complete all documentation accurately. Ability to ask for help when the need arises. Other responsibilities and projects as assigned. Experience and Qualifications Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience, Two-year post high school education in machine trades. Specific skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, strong mathematical skills, strong organizational skills. Equipment & Machinery: Basic knowledge of machine operations.
