Job Description

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for directing manufacturing operations at University Swaging and driving operational excellence, strategic growth, and cross-functional leadership across production, safety, engineering, quality, and sales.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Builds, develops, and manages manufacturing leadership team capable of carrying out needed manufacturing strategies and improving employee relations
  • Build and develop operations organization, processes and procedures to support strategic direction
  • Directs and oversees the operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements
  • Establish operations initiatives for improvement in safety, delivery, quality, cost, and employee relations
  • Ensure full compliance with rigorous aerospace quality certifications and industry standards, such as AS9100
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and procedures
  • Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiencies of daily operations.
  • Obtain profit contribution by managing staff, and accomplishing PCC's business objectives
  • Ensure daily tracking and adherence to budget, adjusting short term plans to accommodate revenue dynamics
  • Warrant specific profit improvement initiatives, both ongoing and new, including raw, WIP and finished inventory reduction, changeover time reduction and scrap/rework elimination
  • Execute lean manufacturing initiatives, continuous improvement and corrective action activities
  • Lead an implementation of schedule-based production manning model to proactively predict, address and support direct labor requirements
  • Drive consistent use of structured problem solving methods, robust data gathering, and analysis tools to support all measurable results
  • Develop and consistently apply the Company rules and policies
  • Set and facilitate plant wide communication expectations, including daily, weekly and monthly requirements
  • Recommends and implements strategic changes in manufacturing and operations strategy to meet the strategic objectives of University Swaging

Minimum Education or Experience

  • 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 5 years in the aerospace Industry
  • 5-7 years supervising salaried managerial and/or technical personnel
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Broad knowledge of AS9100, FAA regulations, aerospace specifications, and quality management systems
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office Suite

Relocation is authorized for this position.



For informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for this role is $230,000.00 to $260,000.00 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 50% of the applicable annual base salary, based on the Company's performance in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.
