Job Description

Summary

Position can begin any time between January and June 2026.

Position reports directly to the Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)- the primary responsibility is to support EHS compliance, safety culture, and accident and injury prevention processes in the Tukwila, WA location. This position will also provide support to the EHS corporate initiatives. Interns will assist with EHS management system implementation, develop, and execute safety improvements and engineering controls, and sustain solutions that enhance EHS compliance, safety culture and the work environment. Partner closely with EHS, operations leadership, engineering, facilities, learning & development, safety committees, and other colleagues to support and execute department initiatives. Successful candidates demonstrate a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a "can do" demeanor. They lead by example and hold themselves and others accountable, while maintaining productive and professional relationships within the team. They must be approachable, transparent, and able to maintain a consistent level of energy and passion. The candidate must also be strategic, astute, forward thinking, and possess the ability to encourage and collaborate with others.,

Essential Functions

  • Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of EH&S policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with EH&S regulations
  • Participate in the identification and evaluation of workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures
  • Support incident investigations, including collecting and analyzing data, and identifying root causes to prevent future occurrences
  • Assist in development and delivery of EH&S training programs for employees
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure EH&S requirements are integrated into daily operations
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of a strong safety culture by organizing safety campaigns, events, and awareness programs
  • Support EHS with safety inspections, Gemba walks, and other regulatory inspections.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective and preventative measure implementation for different incident types: hazard ID, near miss, injury/illness, environmental, and property damage.
  • Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement/6S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects.

Education and Experience

Must be working towards an Environmental Engineering degree, or Safety Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25.00 to $27.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
