Job Summary:

The Division Administrative Director for the Divisions of Vascular Surgery and Urology is an exciting opportunity to lead two high-impact Department of Surgery Divisions that are at the forefront of innovation in surgical care. As a strategic partner to division chiefs and the Department of Surgery Director of Finance & Administration, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, from multimillion-dollar budgets and faculty affairs, to program development and strategic planning, all while driving process improvements and supporting cutting-edge clinical programs.

Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with faculty, leadership, and community practice teams to ensure operational excellence across inpatient and outpatient settings. You'll lead initiatives that enhance patient care delivery, support faculty recruitment and development, and expand the divisions' footprint through new ventures and partnerships. This is a dynamic, high-visibility role that offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the Department of Surgery, School of Medicine and the broader healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee ~$29M in physician revenues and manage budgets across multiple entities including UCH, CHCO, HRH, and VAMC.

  • Personnel Management: Lead recruitment, performance evaluations, and supervision of administrative and clinical support staff.

  • Program Development: Drive strategic growth through new clinical ventures, business plans, and multidisciplinary collaborations.

  • Operational Oversight: Lead process improvement projects and manage freestanding clinic operations in partnership with community practice leadership.

  • Policy Coordination: Ensure compliance with university, state, and federal regulations across fiscal and operational domains.

  • Facilities & Purchasing: Oversee space planning, renovations, and procurement for clinical and research operations.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • At least 6 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic, healthcare, or related setting, including strategic oversight and direct supervision of multiple staff

A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business/public/health administration, accounting, finance or closely related.

  • Experience managing all aspects of a complex organization, including (but not limited to) operations, finance and Human Resources

  • Experience developing complex financial models to include provider and practice proformas, incentive calculations, reimbursement analysis for example.

  • Advance skills in Excel including use of business intelligence tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply, diversified financial management skills.

  • Ability to manage funds effectively, from a variety of sources.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in brief, focused and well-organized oral and written presentations.

  • Ability to establish work priorities and provide follow through, to insure completion of activities, both personally and in subordinates.

  • Ability to plan and organize, implement and coordinate financial and administrative activities, as they apply to the complex workings of the Division.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range for this position has been established as $132,974 - $155,722.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
