ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Materials Receiver II at our Wilmington Campus to transport materials and supplies to various stations throughout Christiana Hospitals with the use of a tram carts. Ensure that non-PAR supplies delivered to customers. Support the Supervisor and/or Manager of Material Operation by overseeing the routine daily receiving and delivery activities in the Materials Distribution Department

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads the activities of assigned receivers and delivery staff daily.
  • Assigns and reviews work activities, performing the more difficult tasks.
  • Resolves immediate problems, while taking more difficult problems to immediate supervisor.
  • Processes in a timely and accurate manner, incoming supplies and equipment to include receipt, inspection, transient storage and delivery destination identification.
  • Processes packages following all JACHO and departmental policies including verifying freight, identifying damaged goods and spoilages
  • Stages all incoming deliveries for delivery staff.
  • Use tram machine to deliver par supplies to basement level elevator lobby.
  • Delivers all non-par deliveries to customers
  • Ensures delivery documents are signed off by department or scanned when deliveries are made.
  • Returns all empty carts and totes to receiving docks for return to the Logistics Center.
  • Responsible for picking up non-stock items to be returned to the vendor from the customers during standard delivery rounds.
  • Scans the tracking # of the item to be returned with the Supply Tracking Handheld verifying the pickup and ship the package following all of the instructions on the RMA contained in the email.
  • Handles supplies and equipment to ensure sterility and infection control when applicable. i.e. sterile trays, supplies with expiration dates, and replenishment of isolation supply carts
  • Takes initiative to assist patient care staff with identification of supply needs and available alternative when requested.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly workstations to department standards.
  • Performs other assignments as assigned by management.
Hours: Day shift 6:00am- 2:30pm

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school graduate with three (3) years of Hospital Materials Distribution, one (1) of which must have involved in working with patient care supplies and equipment.

Experience in material handling equipment or tram operation

Prior data entry experience and /or courses preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Frequent Exposure to dirt, debris, noise and inclement weather
Physical Demands:

Incumbent must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be able to pull approx. 2000 lbs. with a pallet jack. Position requires substantial amounts of standing, sitting, bending and stooping

This position has a starting rate of $19.36 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.69 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $23.79 per hour This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
