The Director of Nursing DON is responsible for evaluating and improving the quality of nursing care, supervising the nursing department, and managing nursing resources within our skilled nursing area. This position is responsible for establishing standards, goals, objectives to assist residents with achieving or maintaining their highest practicable level of physical, spiritual and psychosocial well-being.

Schedule: Full-Time. Typical business hours that can vary based on business needs. On call rotation and leader on duty rotation.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $110,000 - $130,000 per year. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:



  1. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and organizational policies and regulations
  2. Lead and support nursing team members, set clear expectations, and provide professional development
  3. Foster strong teamwork with team members, medical providers, volunteers, and partner agencies
  4. Oversee quality assurance projects and ensure high standards of care
  5. Organize staff meetings, care conferences, training sessions, and required education
  6. Manage department budget and allocate resources effectively
  7. Collaborate on resident admissions and discharges to ensure appropriate care
  8. Review, investigate, and respond to complaints in a timely manner and per policy
  9. Perform other duties as needed



Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse within the state in which working and must maintain licensure
  • Three years of related nursing experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal and State Regulations, MDS/RAI process, OBRA reimbursements systems, case mix, Medicare Care planning, or the willingness to obtain training in these areas
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Previous experience working with seniors
