The Data Analyst, Revenue Strategy & Analytics (NSA), plays a key role in supporting business and technical needs related to trips covered by the No Surprises Act (NSA). This position gathers business requirements, develops ad-hoc queries, and builds data models to create reports and dashboards that help the team bridge NSA processes and trends across revenue cycle, accounting and finance operations

The analyst translates user needs into clear data sourcing plans and delivers business-friendly reports and analyses. They work directly with data from patient accounting systems, clinical platforms, and data warehouses, using tools like SSMS, T-SQL, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.

Reports to the Director of Strategic Revenue Initiatives. Key Collaborations: Interfaces with the CAO, CFO, SVP of Revenue, and teams across revenue analytics, revenue cycle management, and broader GMR departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain NSA-related dashboards and operational reporting procedures.
  • Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail, with a strong ability to audit data for accuracy and resolve ambiguous issues through practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity through routine testing and troubleshooting of irregularities (e.g., correcting non-conforming relationships or unmapped data elements).
  • Produce NSA-specific end-of-month reporting packages for executive and operational leadership.
  • Create both routine and ad-hoc queries and analyses as requested.
  • Provide analytical support to revenue operations, finance, and accounting through advanced data compilation and predictive modeling.
  • Build models to assess revenue mix and sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with the revenue cycle management team to analyze NSA trip volumes by status, dispute outcomes, and accounts receivable aging.
  • Translate business and technical requirements from revenue leadership into functional reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel.
  • Support data governance efforts to ensure consistent data presentation across business units.
  • Monitor daily ETL processes to confirm accurate and timely data loads; troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed.
  • Maintain, optimize, and repair stored procedures and related processes.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and create process flow diagrams as required.
  • Occasionally travel to the revenue cycle operations center in West Plains, MO to engage with the management team.
  • Up to 5% travel to revenue cycle operations center in West Plains, MO to interact with management team.

Qualifications:
Education & Industry Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence (BI); healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred.
  • Skilled in developing decision models that integrate multiple data sources and link aggregated metrics to detailed data.
  • Proficient in writing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and views using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) (minimum 1-2 years hands-on experience) to extract, aggregate, and organize data from multiple sources. Familiar with sourcing datasets from SQL with a solid understanding of relational schemas and Star Schema design.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Proficient in designing Excel-based dashboards and dynamic reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects independently in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, including insurance billing and third-party reimbursement, preferred.
