The Role:

As the Director of Imaging Services in Torrance, you will provide strategic leadership and business development for Diagnostic Imaging Services, ensuring financial and operational excellence. You will be accountable for developing, implementing, and managing a care model that supports strategic goals and facilitates quality improvement processes. Your expertise will guide the delivery of all medical imaging and radiological services, while you craft long-range marketing and business plans and growth strategies.

What You'll Do:



  • Operational Leadership: Direct operations to ensure safe, efficient, and quality imaging services, establishing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic programs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational, regional, and department-specific policies and standards, including state and federal regulations.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and administer a Quality Improvement Program to comply with Joint Commission standards, facilitating standardization and monthly management discussions.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and evaluation, ensuring functionality and cost containment.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay abreast of radiological developments to implement best practices and evidence-based clinical improvements.
  • Financial Stewardship: Lead budget preparation, resource allocation, and explore cost-effective service delivery methods.
  • Strategic Marketing: Analyze marketing opportunities for departmental growth, including service expansion and patient education initiatives.
  • Staff Development: Select, mentor, and develop a highly qualified team, ensuring continuous education, skills training, and professional growth.
  • Patient Experience: Resolve patient and physician complaints empathetically, fostering positive relationships and addressing needs effectively.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate imaging services with patient care departments, promoting an interdisciplinary approach.


What You'll Bring:



  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Business Healthcare Administration or related healthcare field, or a Master's Degree preferred.
  • Certification: Upon hire, Greenbelt Certification or equivalent performance improvement certification is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hospital experience as a Radiologic Technologist or in an imaging discipline, with 5 years of progressive hospital leadership experience.
  • Healthcare Insight: Working knowledge of healthcare trends, reimbursement principles, cost management, and quality assurance.
  • Financial Acumen: Solid financial background and strategic planning skills, with experience in business plan development.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong cognitive thinking, ability to lead multidisciplinary groups, facilitate team development, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communication Proficiency: Demonstrated presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and navigating matrix environments.
  • Operational Expertise: Experience with multi-site integration, visionary leadership, and strategic inclination.
  • Quality and Safety Focus: Ability to drive improvements in quality, safety, and patient experience through risk assessment and conflict resolution.
