Description

The Leave of Absence role will oversee and manage complex leave of absence and accommodation cases. The role will collaborate with HR teams, managers, and employees to ensure that all leave and accommodation requests are processed in compliance with federal, state, and company policies. This role will provide expert guidance on difficult leave situations, conduct audits of leave processes, and ensure the seamless integration of leave data into HR systems. Additionally, the position will play a key role in creating and implementing strategic policies for managing employee leaves and accommodations more effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and process accommodations and various leave types, including medical, parental, disability, and personal ensuring compliance with applicable lawas such as FMLA, ADA, and company policy.
  • Interpret, implement, and educate on leave policies across the organization.
  • Stay current with changing leave regulations and ensure legal compliance in all duties, mitigating risk for the organization.
  • Consult and collaborate with HR and immediate supervisors in managing and processing employee leaves and accommodations.
  • Provide consultative services to employees and their managers on leave and accommodation related issues and policy interpretations.
  • Coordinate return to work process in collaboration with supervisors to ensure a safe and timely return to work.
  • Use judgement and initiative within assigned tasks to reduce need for supervision.
  • Interpret and apply company policies on leave of absence and accommodations.
  • Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.


Mentorship

  • May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.


Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of legal compliance in relation to leave and accommodation management.
  • Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, task prioritization, and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Strong ability to understand complex policy guidelines and interpret them accurately.
  • Strong collaboration abilities with HR and supervisors in implementing return-to-work procedures and decisions.


Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of 4 years of leave of absence management or related experience is required.
  • Previous exposure to a role that required limited supervision and decision making.


Education

  • A degree in human resource management or related field, or equivalent experience is required.


Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $53,000 - $71,000

Location B: $58,000 - $78,000
