JOB SUMMARY |
This position provides support to Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. Field Service business leaders to enable continued business success and growth, to ensure the business has aligned talent & development programs, and to assist in creating strategic plans for the location and business. |
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Create and drive engagement strategies and culture initiatives for the Field Service business.
- Coordinates entire recruitment process for the selection of high-caliber candidates for exempt, non-exempt, and field service technician positions to meet staffing plans and objectives. Administers multiple recruiting strategies - working with internal & external resources - from initial sourcing through assimilation for open positions.
- Partner with Service Leadership team to build strategic plans to attain revenue and OP targets.
- Provides employee relations support to managers/supervisors and employees to ensure complaints, discipline, performance management and corrective action procedures are handled in a fair, consistent and legally compliant manner.
- Conducts investigations in response to employee allegations or management inquiries.
- Works with designated managers, supervisors, and other HR team members to ensure that requests for HR services are met timely, accurate and efficiently.
- Assists HR management in the development, revision, implementation and communication of company policies, procedures and administrative practices.
- Administer and follow applicable PGEW policies and employment law regulations.
- Engage 3rd party employment law counsel for review/advice on high-risk employment matters, as appropriate.
- Supports HR Director with corporate/divisional report generation, workforce analysis initiatives, Affirmative Action development and planning, compensation & benefit analysis and ad-hoc reporting for Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. management.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of the field service environment, which will require a frequent presence in the field and may include working in some of the regional areas supported.
- Forms solid working relationships, based on a thorough knowledge of the business, with HR Corp team, Operations Managers/Supervisors, and other key site managers (Finance, Op Excellence, Quality, Commercial, EHS).
- Develops and hones expertise in HR functional areas. Seeks development opportunities to improve professional competencies and stays current on innovations in HR practices through benchmarking, networking and exposure to research/publications.
- Embraces and demonstrates the Leadership Standards of Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc.
- Develops and manages the HR Service budget
- Champions the implementation of the annual Service social responsibility plan

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Required Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related degree
- Demonstrated experience in a broad range of Human Resources functions, such as recruiting, benefits, compensation, training, performance management, employee relations. .
- Minimum of 5 years of HR Manager experience
- Experience managing a professional staff
- Knowledge of legal issues across HR arena; experience with inside/outside labor law counsel preferred
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required .
- Prior experience working in a matrix organization supporting operations management and HR management
Preferred Education / Experience
- 7-10 years HR Manager experience
- Demonstrated success working with government agencies or educational institutions to build relationships and help create talent programs
- Experience supporting a predominately remote workforce
