Job Description

We are seeking a creative and skilled Multimedia Storyteller with a strong emphasis on video production. If you're passionate about using multimedia-especially video-to tell compelling, creative stories about how people, places, and systems shape the built environment, this role is for you. You'll collaborate closely with HDR's photographers, social media specialists, content strategists and creative teams, as well as with architects, designers, thought leaders, and subject matter experts across the firm. From initial storyboarding to the final delivery of a suite of multimedia assets, you'll help bring complex ideas and projects to life in engaging and innovative ways. Your work will be integrated as part of fully-developed campaigns and pursuit efforts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in capturing high-quality video content, possess strong editing skills, and be able to tell a compelling visual story. The ability to collaborate during the ideation phase and work autonomously through the production phase will be key to success. Asking questions, thinking critically, iterating in collaboration with others, problem solving and holding yourself and the larger team accountable to high-quality standards will yield excellent contributions to HDR's architecture marketing studio.

This role reports directly to the Visual Media Principal with mentorship, support and collaboration from the Communications and Pursuits team. We value the energy and collaboration that comes from being together. Given the collaborative and creative nature of this role, the Multimedia Storyteller is expected to be in the office approximately 50% of the time during non-travel weeks. In-person time is key to fostering real-time collaboration, sparking fresh ideas, and producing high-impact visual content as part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

*Lead the full lifecycle of multimedia storytelling projects, with a strong focus on video-from concept development and storyboarding, inclusive of editing and project management.

*Collaborate with the marketing team and design leaders to shape content that reflects HDR's design philosophy and global impact.

*Apply critical thinking to engaging multimedia sound bites and synthesize complex architectural and design concepts into clear, engaging visuals that resonate with diverse audiences.

*Ensure all multimedia assets align with brand standards and contribute meaningfully to integrated marketing and communications strategies.

*Create multipurpose use for footage based on audience and run times

*Immerse yourself in the ideas, projects and concepts being highlighted.

*Draft a storyboard, pull out the key story lines.

*Maintain and organize video archives and raw footage for easy access and reuse.

*As needed, capture for events.

Preferred Qualifications

*Strong creative mindset with a keen eye for detail

*Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar professional-grade tools.

*Willing and able to travel up to 35% of the time, sometimes independently

*Experience working with multimedia production companies is a plus, especially in collaborative or client-facing roles.

*Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Must be a self-starter with proven ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals from both the business and technical side of the organization
  • Ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in customer service and posses solid organizational and planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
