McKesson'sInvestigational Products Center (IPC) is looking to hire a certified Pharmacy Technician - Inventory Specialist for our Irving location that supports filling drug orders for oncology clinical trial research studies. This Pharmacy Technician, working under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and within a licensed pharmacy, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medicationand drug orderpreparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control. Our ideal candidate will have experience with inventory management, as this Pharmacy Technician is specifically responsible for receiving and maintaining pharmaceutical shipments. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered pharmacist and must adhere to McKesson'sCode of Ethics and Business Standards.

Shift Details: This is an on-site position, Monday -Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Work location is near DFW Airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains current knowledge of study protocols needed for accurately receiving and managing inbound clinical trial inventory.

  • Maintains accurate accountability records of inventory, orders, shipments and returns.

  • Assists with ordering of supplies, inventory and record keeping.

  • Maintains current drug information and MSDS sheets.

  • Logs and dates all investigational products that are being used.

  • Keeps accurate logs on all protocol investigational products.

  • Maintains proper control documentation of investigational products, including lot numbers, bottle or kit numbers. Complete inventory control of investigational products.

  • Maintains clean and well-stocked pharmacy production area according to policies and procedures.

  • Has required knowledge of all Research Pharmacy Technician duties providing the ability to multi-task in varied functions within the CRC.

  • Responsible for reading protocols lab manuals and setting up internal systems accurately according to manuals and protocols.

  • Work closely with wholesalers and directly with manufacturers to ensure the uninterrupted provision of supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and typically requires 3+ years of relative experience in a pharmacy setting

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.

  • Previous experience in clinical trials/research setting is preferred.

  • Computer proficiency and ability to use computerized pharmacy systems.

Must be able to view computer screen and printed material accurately. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
