Job Description Summary

The Corporate Strategy function is responsible for partnering closely with enterprise leaders across several bodies of work: (i) Strategic Planning: research, development, and facilitation of leadership- and board-level strategy discussions (ii) Corporate Development: identification and execution of inorganic opportunities, (iii) Consulting & Performance Management: primarily project-oriented strategy work to set direction, solve targeted issues within our businesses, and routinely inspect business performance in the context of our competitive landscape.
Our team is built on a foundation of "distributed responsibility with concentrated accountability" - meaning every team member is expected to actively contribute across all components of our work, though certain members of the team will have centralized accountability for ensuring a particular function is accomplished. The Senior Director of Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development is therefore expected to perform across all three components above but will have primary accountability for the orchestration of our Corporate Development process with the goal of driving frequent, high-value, strategic dialog with our executive leadership team and board of directors.
This role should serve as a critical resource to leaders within the businesses we support, grounded in strong financial acumen with a thorough and durable understanding of the broader strategic landscape. Additionally, this role serves as a leader within the Corporate Strategy team and will be jointly responsible for the development and coaching of more junior team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Corporate Development Functions

  • Identification of potential inorganic targets to support achievement of strategic plans.
  • Development of valuation models to assist in evaluation of potential deals.
  • Orchestration of due diligence process across internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiation of key terms with counterparties.
  • Execution of deal and transition to internal integration team.

Consulting & Performance Management Functions

  • Strengthening of performance management routines and culture of accountability.
  • Routine inspection of Key's business segment performance.
  • Relationship development and demand generation for the team's services.
  • Support of senior leadership team in efforts to contextualize segment performance and identify areas of strength and opportunity.

Leadership Functions

  • Active contribution to professional growth of our team members.
  • Focus on short- and long-term success of our team and businesses.
  • Contribution of original ideas and proactive efforts to grow our collective knowledgebase.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience (including leadership roles) in corporate strategy, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting within banking and financial services. MUST HAVE TRANSACTION EXPERIENCE AND BANKING EXPERIENCE.
  • Experience in a FIG team highly desirable
  • Problem Solving: Adept at applying frameworks to quantitative and qualitative business decisions.

  • Teamwork: Team-oriented, selfless, focused on the greater good of our team and organization.
