Position Summary

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in supplier quality management, ensuring that all purchased materials, components, and services consistently meet AS9100, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role working closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive compliance, reduce nonconformances, and improve supplier performance. The position offers opportunities to gain expertise in supplier development, auditing, and aerospace quality systems while contributing directly to product excellence.

Key Responsibilities



  • Support the qualification, monitoring, and evaluation of suppliers to ensure compliance with AS9100 and aerospace industry standards.
  • Review and validate Supplier First Article Inspections (FAIs) and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with supplier audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis to resolve nonconformances and drive continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues while maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Maintain and analyze supplier quality records, metrics, and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to improve product quality and supply chain reliability.
  • Apply aerospace quality standards, specifications, and best practices to support compliance and operational excellence.
  • Utilize quality management software and reporting tools to track progress and support decision-making.
  • Participate in broader quality management system (QMS) functions, including calibration control, engineering change management, and internal auditing.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education/experience) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace quality systems (preferred but not required).
  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or supplier quality engineering is a plus.
