Safety is the number one priority for Puget Sound Energy. This position requires participation in safety and tailgate meetings, performing safety inspections, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, obtaining and maintaining required licenses and certifications and participation in emergency response drills. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. The journeyman meterman works under the direction of the meter foreman and performs the duties required to maintain the metering infrastructure for the electric utility. The journeyman meterman must have successfully completed a metering apprenticeship program and have the technical skills to work on metering installations. They must possess an active understanding of safety laws, policies, and protocols as they evolve and update. They must have the knowledge and experience necessary to safely work on energized equipment and maintain electrical service to customers. This position requires participation in safety and tailgate meetings, performing safety inspections, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, obtaining and maintaining required licenses and certifications and participation in emergency response. This job is considered "safety sensitive" as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites. This is a highly technical position, which requires continuing education and skill development to meet changing technology and needs.
