    Position Summary:

    Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to lead budget planning, forecasting, and financial performance tracking for our U.S. headquarters and subsidiaries. This role is central to improving financial visibility and arming leadership with insights to drive data-informed decisions. Reporting directly to the Treasurer, this role will help establish and optimize a structured FP&A function while building scalable reporting tools and dashboards. The ideal candidate is analytical, self-motivated, and collaborative-with a knack for translating financial data into business value.

    JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



    • Lead semi-annual budgeting cycles in collaboration with department leaders.
    • Analyze and report budget vs. actuals; identify variances and suggest corrective actions.
    • Build and maintain dashboards (Power BI) and management reports.
    • Create consolidated financial reports across all U.S. operations and subsidiaries.
    • Support ongoing forecasting activities to refine business outlooks.
    • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis for leadership and strategic planning.
    • Partner with accounting during quarterly closes to ensure timely, accurate data.
    • Assist with internal/external financial reporting, including to Shimadzu Corporation in Japan.



    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:



    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in FP&A or business analysis.
    • Experience working in multinational or cross-cultural environments preferred.
    • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI required; ERP experience (e.g., Great Plains, SAP) a plus.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
    • CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus, but not required.
    • Familiarity with Japanese business culture is helpful but not necessary.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    This full-time, exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays and 3 paid floating holidays (Residents of California and Puerto Rico will receive state-mandated sick leave instead of personal days). After one year of employment, you will also be eligible for a generous short-term disability program with the company covering 100% of monthly premiums.

    The starting salary range for this role is $92,000 to $95,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.
