Be part of the newly reimagined Rustic Restaurant at Francis Ford Coppola Winery-where ingredient-driven cuisine meets world-class wine. As a full-time Cook, you'll contribute to an evolving, collaborative kitchen that celebrates Sonoma County's seasonal bounty, refreshed every six weeks to highlight the best from our garden and local farms. Working under the guidance of our Executive Chef and culinary leadership, you'll gain hands-on experience with key culinary techniques and fundamentals, including wood-fired cookery, slow food principles, and seasonal menu development with a focus on local ingredients and thoughtful sourcing.



Our wine-centric dining experience is crafted to pair beautifully with the acclaimed portfolio of Francis Ford Coppola wines, offering guests an unforgettable, sensory journey that reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, balance, and hospitality. Rustic operates Thursday through Monday, providing full-time hours, a balanced daytime schedule, stability with an excellent benefits package, and a supportive, creative kitchen culture-all in a setting that celebrates collaboration, integrity, and hospitality heart.



**Rustic operates Thursday through Monday, 11:00am with the last seating at 3:00pm. As a full time Cook, you will get the benefit of a balanced daytime schedule during our full lunch service, position stability along with a robust company-sponsored benefits package, and a collaborative, FUN kitchen culture-all in a setting that celebrates innovation, quality, and hospitality heart. This role likely could include holidays and event support based on business needs and operating hours.

Essential Duties

  • Prepares food according to recipe and restaurant specifications in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follows Chef's direction to manage all aspects of assigned station
  • Checks station from prep lists and verbal communication to set priorities for shift
  • Sets up station according to menu needs and ensure readiness for service time
  • Prepares food products for shift while using proper rotation, first in first out and checks for quality while preventing food waste
  • Performs correct cooking techniques
  • Brings any problems or shortages to the chef's attention; each shift is responsible for checking and maintaining a high level of quality of products and equipment on their station
  • Maintains an organized and clean work area at all times; observes good sanitation practices and safety procedures; wears gloves when possible
  • Unpacks and stocks kitchen deliveries
  • Checks out with chef daily before leaving shift

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience



  • High School diploma, GED equivalent, or equivalent experience
  • Prior kitchen experience preferred


Certificates and Licenses



  • ServSafe Certification required
  • TIPS Certification or Certified within 90 days of employment


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Understanding of use, operations, and care for all kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of knife skills and cooking terms
  • Good knowledge of hot and cold food preparations, seasoning, vinaigrettes, soups, sauces, stocks, vegetable preparations, basic butchery, and meat and fish cookery
  • Knowledge of sanitation rules

Working Conditions

  • General kitchen environment with no travel
  • Must wear closed toed shoes
  • Indoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
  • Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Work in close quarters or confined spaces
  • Exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment
  • Exposure to flames and oil splatter

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $18.46 to $28.86. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
