Position Overview:
The Senior HR Generalist serves as a key partner in the delivery of HR services across the South Region. This role provides advanced support in employee relations, engagement initiatives, compliance, and HR operations, while also contributing to projects that enhance culture, retention, and the overall employee experience. The Senior HR Generalist acts as one of the primary points of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring HR delivery is consistent, professional, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as one of the primary points of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring timely and professional resolution while escalating complex matters when appropriate.
- Lead and support employee engagement initiatives and special projects that strengthen culture, improve retention, and align with company values.
- Provide advanced employee relations support, including coaching leaders on handling concerns, drafting documentation, and assisting with investigations.
- Partner with managers and leaders across the South Region to deliver HR processes and ensure alignment with company policy and legal requirements.
- Support compliance with federal and state employment laws, as well as internal policies, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and wage/hour requirements.
- Coordinate with HR leadership on projects related to policy alignment, M&A integration, and process improvement.
- Review trends and provide insights to HR leadership regarding employee relations, engagement, and workforce planning.
- Support the administration of leave of absence processes and ensure proper documentation and communication with employees.
- Assist with unemployment claims, hearings, and determination of rehire eligibility.
- Contribute to training, orientation, and ongoing employee development programs.
- Partner with Payroll, Benefits, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior HR team members, helping to build HR capability across the region.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion while managing sensitive employee matters.
- Participate in training and mentoring new HR team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of issues and follow through to resolution.
- Support other HR initiatives and special projects as assigned in alignment with department and business priorities.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including direct involvement in employee relations, engagement, and HR operations.
- Prior experience supporting multi-site or regional operations strongly preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or higher certification preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations cases with professionalism and fairness.
- Proven experience leading HR projects and/or engagement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify trends and recommend solutions.
- High degree of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
