Site Reliability Engineer II (Part Time) The Site Reliability Engineer II enables a reliable and secure infrastructure that supports fast, scalable, and effective delivery of software solutions. This role implements infrastructure and automation in alignment with project and organizational goals, ensuring high system availability and operational excellence. They support production environments, drive observability efforts, and help development teams deliver efficiently and securely, often outside of standard business hours, as per contract requirements. The Impact You Will Create: By designing resilient infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and managing secure and compliant systems, the Site Reliability Engineer II helps ensure that software development and delivery are stable, rapid, and aligned with business needs within the SEC EDT project. Their proactive monitoring and issue resolution efforts directly reduce system downtime and improve service reliability. They also contribute to enhanced team productivity by reducing manual processes and improving infrastructure quality. Your Responsibilities in This Role:
- Design, implement, and support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in GitHub Actions and GitLab Runners to automate delivery of secure, compliant code.
- Embed automated security tools and vulnerability scanning into pipelines, ensuring compliance with FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and SEC-specific ATO processes.
- Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to provision and maintain cloud infrastructure in a repeatable, auditable way.
- Deploy and support services in FedRAMP-authorized AWS environments (e.g., ACES at SEC), applying serverless and containerized practices where appropriate.
- Manage and optimize repositories, branching strategies, and code workflows in GitHub/GitLab to support collaboration across the engineering team.
- Collaborate with product, testing, and leadership roles to ensure delivery meets stakeholder needs and agency standards.
- Provide technical input on requirements, feasibility, and trade-offs to support backlog and product decisions.
- Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize the performance and reliability of cloud-based services.
- Implement cloud infrastructure and pipeline solutions with minimal supervision, adhering to technical standards.
- Decompose large tasks into discrete deliverables that align with strategic priorities.
- Design and automate observability systems, including logging and monitoring tools, using SLIs for critical services.
- Address production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Guide and mentor other engineers in infrastructure and automation best practices.
- Participate actively in Agile team discussions, planning, and ceremonies.
- Contribute feedback to refine technical processes and team practices.

- Must Possess or have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Must have at least 4 years of experience
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to integrate security tools into delivery pipelines. Experience managing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks including FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and SEC-specific ATO processes.
- Deep experience with GitHub and GitLab. Hands-on with GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, and GitLab Runners (legacy pipelines).
- Knowledge of modern DevSecOps techniques, including continuous integration, continuous development, IaC, and serverless computing.
- Familiarity with common cloud services, particularly FedRAMP-authorized AWS (ACES) and Amazon S3.
- Experience using Pa11y (accessibility), Dependabot (dependency scanning), Nexus (artifact repository), Aqua Security and Veracode (security tools).
- Understanding of the full federal ATO and/or SDLC process and practices for securing applications in a federal environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with distributed systems and scalable application architecture.
- Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving under pressure.
- Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with initiative to drive personal and technical growth.
- Ability to mentor others and influence team practices through expertise and leadership.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
- Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
- Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
