The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids and other specimens that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Assumes responsibility for actively contributing to the sections productive and cost effectiveness. Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to Section Supervisor, Pathologist or Administrative Coordinator. Assists with the supervisory and administrative functions of the section. Performs additional tasks as required by his/her designee.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or sciences
• Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques, which would normally be obtained through a formal four- year college/university program
• Three years of minimum clinical laboratory experience performing moderate to high complexity testing with successful competency assessment

Preferred:

• Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology, such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists
