POSITION SPECIFICS The College of Health and Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University is hiring a Student Advocacy Specialist. This position advocates for and advances the University's commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming campus environment for all students. It focuses on developing and supporting initiatives and programs that provide resources and services to students within the College. The role includes advocating for students on issues related to recruitment, retention, and academic success, while working collaboratively with student groups, campus partners, administrative units, and the broader University to build a strong sense of belonging and enhance the college community. Additionally, the position promotes student success through community-building efforts and provides appropriate responsive support. It also includes administering training for students, faculty, and staff on topics related to inclusion, equity, and community awareness. The successful candidate will:
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS If filled as Student Advocacy Specialist - Advanced Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Student Advocacy Specialist - Intermediate Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneApplication Instructions: For full consideration, candidates must include a cover letter and resume with their application. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
