Responsibilities

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a proud subsidiary of Universal Health Services (UHS), is thrilled to announce the opening of our new Foggy Bottom Clinics in October 2025, located at Cedar Hill Medical Center in Washington, DC!

Founded in 2012, IPM is a leading physician services unit specializing in developing and managing multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics. We align with UHS acute care facilities and provide select services for the Behavioral Health division. With operations in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia, our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care and fostering healthy communities.

Practice Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate a broad spectrum of day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Implement effective cost control measures through the economic utilization of staff, materials, and equipment.
  • Oversee supply inventory, ordering, and maintain PAR levels that demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure accurate, efficient, safe, high-quality, compliant, and productive operations of assigned medical practices.
  • Implement and maintain office policies and procedures, upholding IPM and UHS policies, goals, and standards.
  • Foster a patient-centered environment focused on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
  • Compose practice schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels for efficient operations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Champion IPM and market initiatives.
  • Recruit, onboard, orient, and train staff to meet practice and organizational needs.
  • Engage in staff development, providing general in-services as well as individual instruction and orientation.
  • Ensure accurate front-end revenue cycle operations.
  • Promote practice-related metrics by supervising and communicating team performance using various reports and tools.
  • Effectively communicate new or updated initiatives and provide applicable workflow strategies.
  • Monitor overhead expenses and work with providers and clinic staff to continuously improve expenses and maintain a lean operations model.
  • Collect data, prepare reports, and analyze practice statistics, addressing variances with action plans.
  • Adequately staff and adjust staffing ratios to volume.
  • Work with the front-end team to reduce first-pass denials, secure eligibility, referrals, and capture point-of-service cash.
  • Oversee daily cash collection through reconciliation, deposit, and documentation of the deposit process.
  • Work with providers to ensure encounters and charts are closed in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates Degree from an accredited educational institution.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of healthcare experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, EMR systems, medical and billing terminology, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare or hospital office settings.
  • Service excellence, and recruiting, training, leading, and performance management of staff.
