Responsibilities
The Director of Admissions is accountable for implementing and directing all admissions to the facility while coordinating internal and external business development strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a crisis situation, remain calm and direct staff appropriately. This role also requires knowledge of regulatory standards including state and federal rules and regulations for emergency care. Good written skills are necessary for performance improvement monitors. Previous managerial experience required as this is a position requiring the direction of many staff members both in-office and within the community. Transparency in communication is a must as well as standardized expectations for staff members reporting to this person. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, Business Development, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, functions as a liaison with other hospital intake departments. Therefore, this person must collaborate and work well both independently and as a team member. The Director of Intake provides direct care, leadership, direction, and supervision for the Intake Clinicians. The Director of Intake is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for call offs & any other calls from his/her staff. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Education: Masters degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or other related field or Registered Nurse. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Licensure: R.N., L.C.S.W. or applicable license. |
