Position Summary

This position will provide technical support for key equipment sales/service initiatives; i.e. Advanced Maintenance Program (AMP) service offerings. AMP Techs will travel to customer sites in North America and rebuild equipment during an intensive 2-3 day time frame, typically during the weekends when the plant is not processing food products. This position will also support Sealed Air's field Technical Service Reps and the R&D team as time permits. Depending on the specific geographic needs at the time, we are looking for candidates all over North America. We have over 300 machines located in nearly every location in NAM. The number of AMP Techs is 17 and growing very rapidly.

Job Description

  • Work in wet and/or cold food production environments with personal protective equipment required (hard hat, ear and eye protection, steel-toed shoes).
  • Most of the work will take place on Saturdays and Sundays with support at the plant during plant startup on Monday morning. Travel to/from the work sites typically takes place on Friday's and Mondays but there are instances where the work may extend into Monday and occasionally Tuesdays.
  • Most of the work is mechanical, with some electrical and electronic tasks. The work is done in teams of two to four people working together to remove and replace worn parts of the packaging equipment.
  • As you gain experience, you will be asked to take the lead on rebuilding the equipment. This will require you to manage the other AMP Techs on site, coordinate the activities with the customer and with other Sealed Air personnel, and ensure the right parts are shipped to the site on time and ready for your team when you show up to do the work.
  • Provide equipment troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance service to customers as required.
  • Complete all administrative requirements for documentation of service activity, monthly reports, and expenses


Complete all required safety training - both internal and customer requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Advanced technical training is greatly preferred
  • A mechanical background/experience is required (rebuilding cars, lawnmowers, motorcycles, etc.)
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's License.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (both driving long distances and flying via commercial airlines). You will be away from your home more than 75% of the time.
  • Previous experience servicing Cryovac equipment preferred.
  • Professional attitude and self-motivated/directed.
  • Time management, communication skills, decision-making, interpersonal, computer, and organizational skillsare required.
  • Computer technology experience - Email, Microsoft Office Suite, Mobile Device Apps, etc.
  • Work well with others in a team environment where the work is divided up.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
