Purchasing Manager

Shift: Day shift

The Purchasing Manager will lead daily operations and strategic initiatives for the Purchasing Department. This role focuses on supplier management, critical agreements, and purchasing strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and mentor the purchasing team
• Maintain and enhance purchasing processes, tools, and reporting systems
• Drive company-wide objectives, including cost reduction, inventory management, and new product/capital planning
• Manage purchasing initiatives such as supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, scorecards for top vendors, and cost-saving projects
• Oversee purchase orders and ensure accuracy of data within ERP/MRP systems
• Source and negotiate MRO supplies and supplier agreements
• Collaborate with other departments to meet organizational needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 5-10 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing (highly preferred)
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Experience with supplier scorecards, dual sourcing strategies, and overseas suppliers is a plus
• Proven ability to drive cost savings (10%+ reductions) and efficiency improvements
