Aloha! One of Hawaii's healthcare clients is seeking a Systems Engineer. Main duties will assist with the design and implementation of computer networks, voice and/or data systems. Additionally, he/she will provide technical consulting services to department and company personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manages internal IS projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the technical infrastructure including, but not limited to, the network, phone, and other communication systems. Develops the timeline and ensures deadlines are met. Determines and obtains needed resources. 2. Evaluates user requests for new or modified computer network, voice and/or data systems, software, and hardware. Develops specifications and technical implementation plans. Recommends alternative solutions to reduce costs or improve service. May be involved with the installation of the above mentioned systems. 3. Evaluates vendor proposals. 4. Ensures secure management of all computer network, voice and data security systems, including encryption policies, intrusion detection, and network authentication. 5. Provides throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning of the computer network, voice and/or data systems. Implements and enforces network security policies. Advises resource owners on appropriate network security policies and ensures compliance with these policies. 6. Researches and recommends software tools that identify troublesome trends as they develop. 7. Provides a stable performance environment for networks and the enterprise systems. 8. Identifies and analyzes problems; makes decisions and takes appropriate action (s). 9. Follows up to insure that service level agreements have been achieved and resolves any outstanding issues. Identifies and resolves hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to computer networks and related servers. Supports operations after hours as needed. 10. Trains and mentors other department personnel as assigned. 11. Performs other duties as required. 12. Rotational on-call responsibilities as needed. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
