Who We are: Kingsbury, Inc. was founded in 1912 and is the leader in the design and manufacture of tilt-pad fluid film thrust and journal bearings for all types of rotating machinery, with thousands of installations worldwide. The Company is comprised of a Corporate office (Philadelphia, PA), two (2) manufacturing facilities (Philadelphia, PA and Oshkosh, WI) and two (2) repair and service facilities (Philadelphia, PA and Yuba City, CA) located in the United States. In addition, Kingsbury has one (1) manufacturing facility located in Gottingen Germany. Position Overview: A Quality Inspector II checks and inspects in-coming materials, in-process and finished products, ensuring conformance to company quality standards and customer specifications. Utilizes intermediate and advanced quality tools and equipment to complete jobs. The Quality Control Inspector II will:
- Use precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, profilometers, bore gages, snap gages, and vision equipment to inspect parts.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 17025 standards.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and ERP systems for documentation and communication.
- Operate CMM equipment and utilize software such as PC-DMIS to compare parts against specifications.
- Perform and interpret Liquid Penetrant and Ultrasonic Testing in accordance with SNT-TC-1A NDT specifications.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets.
- Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, and return reports.
- Analyze inspection results and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues. Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality.
- Perform all testing required to ensure a quality product.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.
- Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- May be required to multi-task and perform additional functions in addition to primary workload when circumstances permit.
- Works under and adheres to all applicable ISO-9000 system level procedures and work instructions.
- Exemplifies Kingsbury's safety mindset by complying with all safety requirements and acts as a safety ambassador.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Attends all meetings and training as required, including safety training and team huddles.
Qualifications:
- 3 years or more experience working in quality or combination of experience and related training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, profilometers, bore gages, snap gages, vision equipment).
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), preferably with PC-DMIS or similar software.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 17025 standards.
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints, engineering specifications, work orders, and routing sheets.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and ERP systems.
- Preferred Experience: Experience working with Syteline and/or PC-DMIS. Prior work in manufacturing environment, hand/power tool use, blueprint reading experience. Prior experience in calibration and other ISO 9001:2015 system. Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods. Experience with Liquid Penetrant Testing and Ultrasonic Testing per SNT-TC-1A NDT specification. Supervisory or leadership experience in a quality control environment. Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
