THE POSITION

Washington County Fleet Services Division is now hiring a Stores Clerk!
The Department
Fleet Services is a division within the department of Facilities, Fleet & Parks. Fleet Services is a full-service centralized fleet comprised of 760 vehicles and construction equipment. Fleet Services has a staff of 20 to support the County's fleet of vehicles. The Stores Clerk position facilitates purchasing, inventory, Motor Pool operations, vehicle fueling maintenance and other ongoing tasks to maintain department operations and keep the County fleet on the road supporting the community.

The Position
The role researches, purchases, and maintains parts inventory as well as supplies such as tires, lubricants, and small tools for a diverse vehicle fleet that includes heavy-duty trucks, road construction equipment, law enforcement vehicles, and general automotive vehicles. The Stores Clerk performs accurate data entry into the fleet management information system for transactions such as orders, receipts, and issues of parts, lubricants, and supplies; processes daily fuel import fuel file into the fleet management information system; this position also administers fleet's motor pool vehicle rental program.

The ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be team oriented and able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment. The candidate will have an automotive and heavy equipment background to facilitate the purchasing of parts, tools, and related supplies. The candidate will have experience using a comprehensive inventory management system and have proficient computer skills, familiar with Microsoft applications such as Outlook and Excel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent; AND
  • Two (2) years of experience in purchasing, storekeeping, and automotive parts and hardware.

Selection Process
