Overview

The Warehouseman is responsible for moving finished packaged product from warehouse staging areas to the warehouse racks as well as moving packaged finished product from the ware house racks to the dock staging areas, ensuring that all finished product is shipped with the correct labels and in the required packaging as well as expediting the shipping of finished product, and safely loading all outbound orders onto trucks and shipping containers. This position reports to the shipping and warehouse manager and shift supervisors afterhours.


Responsibilities

  1. Be able to read and understand orders.
  2. Be able to read and understand booking numbers for containers.
  3. Be able to understand and assemble the special documentation for trucks and containers.
  4. Distinguish different packaging sizes/styles including, but not limited to, pallets, totes, drums, carboys.
  5. Distinguish between different kinds of products via the order.
  6. Read, follow and understand warehouse and forkliftprocedures.
  7. Operate forklift safely and perform forklift inspections for trucks that employee is trained to use.
  8. Be able to use product scanner.
  9. Use forklift lift to move finished product from production plants to appropriate warehouse staging/storage areas.
  10. Use forklift to load trucks and containers from warehouse docks.
  11. Be able to accurately produce and maintain all warehouse logs and paperwork.
  12. Inspect to ensure that all finished product is packaged and labeled correctly.
  13. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment for warehouse area.
  14. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  15. Load/offload hazardous materials and waste.
  16. Assist with inventory data collection and reconciliation.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  1. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
  2. Participate in continuous improvement programs.
  3. Attend safety meetings, site safety meetings, safety tours, etc.
  4. Notify plant management of any suspicious behavior of visitors to the facility.
