Position Summary |
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for
WSSU faculty, staff, students and visitors. This position involves operating a variety of campus vehicles, including cars, vans, and large passenger buses requiring a
CDL, following established routes and schedules. The Shuttle Driver ensures passenger safety, maintains vehicles in good working condition, and upholds departmental and traffic regulations.
In addition to transportation duties, the position supports Parking and Transportation Services by assisting with traffic management, parking, and special campus events. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to recognize and respond to safety concerns are essential to successfully perform this role. |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Parking and Transportation unit within Business and Auxiliary Services views its employees as public-safety service providers, with
WSSU faculty, staff, and students recognized as our valued customers. The department is committed to building strong partnerships with the campus community in order to provide services that enhance personal safety and ensure convenient, safe, and timely transportation throughout campus. In addition to shuttle operations, the unit also provides leadership and support in traffic management, parking services, and campus events. |
