Job Description Job Title: Operations Manager Department: Distribution Reports to: Director of Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: Plans, organizes, and monitors employees to achieve stated administrative goals of the operation. Coupled with owning the administrative activities within the DC operation. Including operational activities to ensure accurate and timely flow of information, billing, and inventory through the business. Essential Functions: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:

- Plan and prepare action plans to achieve results.
- Conduct employee performance reviews, coaching and counseling where appropriate, including disciplinary actions.
- Develop a positive work environment by demonstrating a positive attitude.
- Ensures administration of inventory, shipping, receiving, storage, distribution, and production are performed in an efficient manner.
- Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry.
- Ensure that planned production workload is processed on time and made available when needed.
- Collaborate and direct warehouse employees to ensure that cycle counts are completed, and reporting data forwarded at scheduled intervals.
- Investigate inventory errors and perform corrective measures.
- Tracks orders and investigates problems.
- Ensures that slotting of inventory happens as needed within the forward picking areas.
- Thorough understanding of slotting methodologies is highly desirable to achieve maximum efficiencies in the picking operations.
- Makes employee decisions including interview, selection, and retention of employees.
- Conduct employee training, career counseling, and development.
- Continually review administrative requirements and assign employees to the correct work.
- Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the administration of the operation.
- Resolves employee issues through problem solving.
- Can multi-task and work / manage multiple issues concurrently.
- Conduct/support employee team meetings.
- Able and willing to assist in all administrative functions within the operation
- Promotes accurate, timely communication up and down the organization to ensure priority issues are addressed.
- Always sets a good example to co-workers.
- Coordinate daily workflow with other warehouse personnel.
- Ensures the work areas are appropriately maintained and correct any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required as work cannot be performed remotely.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite and warehouse systems
- Must be able to work flexible schedules as required which may include working off shifts and weekends on occasion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Proficiency in English oral and written communication, Spanish is desired.
- At least 1 year experience utilizing a warehouse management system.
Physical Requirements: The requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- Must be able to stand up to 10 hours in a day.
- Must be able to walk up to 8 hours.
- Will continuously reach up and out.
- Will occasionally climb.
- Will occasionally push/pull from 11 to 25 pounds.
- Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, knee, and push/pull from 36 to 50 pounds.
- Will frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Will occasionally have repetitive foot movement.
- Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation.
- Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
Language Skills:
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to speak with all levels of the organization
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports
Mathematical Skills:
- Must be proficient in mathematics and have strong analytical skills.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The work performed is in a warehouse distribution center environment
- The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and dust, and will be working around moving machinery
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment
