Job Summary Mesa Community College (MCC) is seeking a Student Services Specialist Sr. to join our Student Life and Leadership team. This dynamic role involves planning student leadership retreats, coordinating large-scale campus events, and advising student government, clubs, and organizations. You'll collaborate with campus and community partners to create engaging programs that foster student involvement and leadership development. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, highly organized, and experienced in event planning and student engagement strategies. This position is perfect for someone who is dedicated to creating vibrant campus experiences for students. Essential Functions 40% - Coordinates projects, events, and activities for the students of Mesa Community College including knowledge of project management techniques, monitoring budget expenditures and related District processes. 20% - Oversees the activities and schedules of the office staff and new and continuing students in all Student Life & Leadership programs. 20% - Supports cohorts of students as part of various student clubs and organizations - often in the role of advisor but also as a trainer for the faculty and staff who advise student clubs; ensures all the student clubs and organizations meet the applicable regulations and processes established within the college and the District; ensures student government officers meet their academic requirements. 10% - Prepares, designs, and maintains correspondence, reports, presentations, program materials, and documentation; provides applicable training and presentations to various groups to help inform the work of the department to aid in future partnerships. 10% - Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution B. At least (2) years experience supporting college student engagement opportunities such as a programming board, orientation, residence life, or student government. D. Public speaking experience E. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students F. Experience planning, implementing and evaluating/assessing small and large scale events, programs and services.
