Erosion Control Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
Hillpointe is a vertically integrated multi-family development designer and builder, with in-house engineering and construction teams that manage developments through the complete project life cycle (from initial site assessment to final construction completion). As part of the Hillpointe model, the Erosion Control Specialist is primarily responsible for inspection and maintenance of all erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs) throughout the construction phase of each project assigned. The Erosion Control Specialist will collaborate with both the construction team in the field and the engineering teams to ensure timely and efficient maintenance of erosion and sediment control BMPs in accordance with all state and location requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Site Development and Construction Management teamsto identify timelines, goals, needs, and objectives.
- Inspect and maintain all on-site erosion control measures (e.g., filter fabric, drainage socks, silt fence, construction entrance, etc.).
- Identify potential site erosion issues and address erosion control weak points, including installation of drainage socks, installing/repairing silt fence, etc.
- Participate in pre-construction kickoff meetings with AHJ as directed.
- Assist in ensuring site has met final stabilization requirements for a site CO.
- Prepare project update reports as directed and assist in coordination/tracking photo documentation and any necessary reports for work done to reach site stabilization.
- Assist with construction-related needs, such as coordinating any issues in the field with the engineer, working with local jurisdictions for site inspections or revisions, and record-keeping of relevant documentation.
- Understand and coordinate technical documents related to construction, such as current drawings, approved documents, photos, inspection reports, and code requirements, and be able to integrate into relevant software, such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Assist in scheduling meetings related to BMP deficiencies, such as on-site meetings, Teams meetings, external meetings, etc.
- Work with various personnel to ensure project completion, including engineers, designers, surveyors, contractors, subcontractors, and local jurisdiction site inspectors and reviewers.
- Assist in tracking the status of all BMP work to reach site stabilization.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Site Development Coordinator, Site Development Project Manager, Director of Development Services, and/or VP of Construction.
- Participate in continuously improving Development Services Teams and Company practices that align with our mission statement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, technical schooling, or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required
- Minimum (1) year relevant experience. Experience in erosion control, grading, landscaping, or general construction is strongly preferred.
- Bi-lingual Spanish candidates are highly preferred
- Proficiency in operating small machinery like forklifts, skid steer loaders, tractors, and sweepers is preferred
- Knowledge of job site safety practices required
- Current OSHA 10 card (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Basic knowledge of land development and the construction industry.
- Proficiency in key communication software, such as Microsoft Suite and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with relevant construction software, such as Autodesk, is preferred but not required
- Strong time management, leadership, project, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
- Driver's License required
