At Knife River, we are excited to expand our team to include an AI Business Analyst that will implement enterprise-wide AI initiatives. This person will execute AI-related goals aligned with the organization's broader strategic objectives. You will design, build and deploy AI solutions, establish metrics to evaluate effectiveness and maintain a dynamic roadmap for AI adoption that aligns with the organization's priorities.

In this role you should have with a growth mindset and an eagerness to experiment with solutions and how they would be adopted into our organization

This position can be located in any of the following locations: Bend, OR - Portland, OR - Billings, MT - Boise, ID - Bismarck, ND - Sioux Falls, SD.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Requires knowledge of business systems and processes at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, management information systems or related field.
  • Strong project management capabilities with experience handling multiple initiatives.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with current AI tools and platforms.
  • Basic understanding of data and automation concepts.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Experience with AI configuration and platforms.
  • Experience utilizing Azure's ecosystem of technology. Example: Power Automate, Power Apps, Excel, or similar low code / no code platforms.
  • Effective communication and storytelling to build trust and convey the value of AI solutions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Duties and/or Responsibilities:



  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for AI integration.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of AI-related projects, ensuring timely updates and stakeholder alignment.
  • Facilitate cross functional discussions to configure AI systems to align with business objectives and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for AI configurations and business processes.
  • Review metrics of AI systems and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the AI solution.
  • Continue to enhance and update AI training campaigns based on latest capabilities
  • Stay up to date with the latest AI technologies and trends.
  • Participates in efforts to collect, analyze, and continually improve processes.
  • Responsible for identification and integration of data security measures.
  • Following and implementing the company data governance policy and procedures within AI technology.
  • Travel to subsidiary companies for application implementations and support will be required.
  • Available to assist with scheduled on-call support and technical emergencies as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks and conform to timelines for successful application implementation.
    • Ability to identify problems, in a timely manner, for systems utilized by a diverse customer/user base.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with IT and external team members
