WAGES AND BENEFITS

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour; Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST); FWS sponsors a retirement plan with 3% employer match and immediate vesting.

SCHEDULE

This position is in-person and part-time (20 hours per week). The hours of childcare are 7am-6pm so flexibility in scheduling is needed.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as FamilyWise's Childcare Teacher provides an opportunity to implement top quality care and education for children who are enrolled in our program by completing assessments, writing individual lesson plans, implementing daily lesson plans and supporting classroom aides. Other responsibilities include the following:



  • Adhering to and upholding Rule 3 licensing rules and regulations at all times.
  • Creating weekly/bi-weekly lesson plans in accordance with the Creative Curriculum.
  • Assessing children's needs and development.
  • Ensuring the safety and health of children on a daily basis.
  • Providing developmentally appropriate and stimulating activities, both indoor and outdoor.
  • Keeping up to date with Rule 3 licensing required trainings (CPR/First Aid, SIDS/AHT, as well as curriculum/assessment training).
  • Working closely with families to encourage cooperation.
  • Serving meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Completing Indoor Inspection Checklists, Daily Reports, Health Checks and Meal Counts daily.
  • Completing quarterly Creative Curriculum assessments and holding conferences with families in conjunction with the Child Development Specialist.


Who You Are



  • You have previous experience working with children.
  • You have knowledge and experience working with culturally and racially diverse populations in lower socio-economic conditions.
  • It is preferable if you are able to speak multiple languages.
  • You have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • You understand the importance of customer service.
  • You demonstrate skills in conflict management.
  • You are computer literate with skills in MS Office.
  • You have the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers.
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You use good judgment in recognizing the scope of your role.
