Aerospace Tooling Supervisor

PPG Aerospace has a job opening for aTooling Supervisor! As a Tooling Supervisor, you will have direct supervisory responsibility for the Tooling Department. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This position will primarily work first shift Monday to Friday with some Saturday Coverage will be required. This position manages the design, maintenance and repair of tools, dies, molds and other equipment used in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of the Tooling Department Team (up to 7 associates)

• Leads and supports an area safety team focusing on risk reduction and improvements.

• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; observing constraints in flow and equipment; monitoring staffing and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections and recovery efforts in disruption of flow

• Completes Tool production plan by scheduling and assigning staffing; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the fabrication/repair to area specific Supervisors, Department Managers and Manufacturing Eng. Manager.

• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

• Interface with Support Tooling Engineering Team, department/area Engineers and Supervisors, Program Managers, and Tool Check department regarding various needs.

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees of the safe use of equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Leads fellow supervisors to resolve employee problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

• Responsible for Evaluation of Associate Performance and Hiring of new Team Members as required.

• Estimate new/replacement Tooling Costs

• Coordinate Costing/Design/Purchasing of Tooling with Third Party Vendors

• Identify/Order required Materials for Repairs/Builds for Manufacturing Fabrication Fixtures

Qualifications

• Only US Citizens, Green Card holders, political asylees, or refugees are eligible to apply

• 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience

• 3+ years of Mechanical Design or fabrication experience required

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred

• 3D Modeling Experience required with Catia V5 Software preferred

• Microsoft Project Experience preferred
