Responsibilities:
* Continually monitors and controls that products packed meet specifications and are of the highest quality standards. Communicates effectively with Production and Maintenance personnel to resolve challenges with product quality or mechanical failures.
* Coordinates, organizes, and assigns subordinates daily job tasks to complete daily production schedule. Ensures that employees are trained as necessary to perform their job tasks. Assures that metal detector and other packaging equipment are operating properly.
* Monitors and controls freezer temperature and product core temperatures to specification, and inform Maintenance Department or Packing or Production Supervisor when freezer and/or product is out of specification.
* Monitors and ensures accuracy of case codes, case labeling, and retail bags. Ensures that case labeling is legible. Monitors and controls that packaging documents are filled out accurately, legibly, and in a timely fashion. Reviews shift case counts tags for accuracy, complete end of shift documents, and place documents in their designated place.
* Places palletized cases in their designated freezer area. Maintains sufficient materials for the Packaging Department, including but not limited to pallets, box cartons, box carton tape, master case inserts, baking instructions, pallet tags, correct retail bags, and correct box labels.
* Operate Forklift as a licensed driver, and hand or automated pallet jacks. Always operates the forklift in a safe manner. Attends a Forklift safety-training seminar at least once a year. Monitors and controls that Packaging Department employees are performing tasks to company quality and productivity standards.
* Ensures that employees wear proper protective freezer clothing when performing job tasks. Completes duties in accordance with quality assurance, GMPs, safety and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations.
* Maintains clean, organized and safe work area, including wiping and washing equipment, tools, containers and dollies; sweeping and mopping floors; and trash removal. Performs other duties as assigned.
* Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.

Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to plan, direct, organize, and coordinate daily activities at the Packing Department.
  • Ability to function consistently within expected standards of operation, handling multiple tasks, executing job functions with interruptions, prioritizing job tasks, and dealing effectively with challenges and employees.
  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Execute sound decisions when confronted with processing, mechanical, or personnel challenges.
  • Basic knowledge of GMPs and Lockout/Tagout Procedures. Basic effective verbal and written skills (English).
  • Basic math skills (Adding-Subtraction-Multiplication-Division). Perform well under pressure and processing time constraints.
  • Ability to be precise and clear in giving instructions and directions to subordinates.


Shift:3rd shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am)

Hourly Rate:$20.97 - $22.72

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
