Inventory Control Specialist, Distribution Center

Maintain a positive company image by providing excellent and friendly customer service while accurately compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, value and supplies inventoried at the Distribution Center.

Responsibilities
* Arrive to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, wear appropriate PPE, work all scheduled shifts, complete required training and attend required meetings.
* Establish primary slot locations for all products
* Process all slot move requests
* Set up all primary slot locations for new products in EXE
* Verify the physical slot locations by product matches EXE
* Perform audits and cycle counts daily using the appropriate inventory adjustment codes
* Research and process store credit requests
* Prepare reports such as needed - slow moving inventory, shortages, discontinued products with inventory, primary slot location changes by building, and system discrepancies by type
* Process returns and damages
* Process and load food donations
* Dispose of damaged and expired inventory as directed by Leadership
* Review letdown reports, and product movement reports to establish proper primary slot size and location in the warehouse.
* Monitor quality and accuracy of rack labeling and signage, and replace missing, damaged or inaccurate labeling or signage
* Properly maintains all equipment associated with the position
* Comply with all applicable state health and safety codes
* Maintain clean and sanitary operating environment
* Abide by all safety regulations set forth by OSHA and WFM
* Perform other duties as assigned by Associate Team Leader, Team Leader, and Facility Leadership
* Clean warehouse as needed.
* Attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
* Team-player with positive attitude
* Able to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision
* Report all life safety and fire hazards, along with any other violations of company policy, to Team Leader for correction and report all accidents/injuries to Team Leader or Facility Leadership immediately.
* Use computerized warehouse management system via Wi-Fi handheld units, tablets and/or PCs
* Working understanding of and compliance with all WFM quality goals, and thorough product knowledge
* Proper use of which may include but not limited to, safety knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks and all other equipment used within the Distribution Center.
* Safely operate and or maintain powered material handling equipment including: ride on pallet jack, forklift, dock plates and safety equipment in accordance with OSHA and Whole Foods regulations to move product
* Assist in cleaning the warehouse, maintaining a safe working environment.
* Communicate and maintain employee safety and security standards

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Ability to read and speak basic English
* Excellent data entry skills; ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as EXE and PeopleSoft.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
* Ability to use basic math quickly (add, subtract, multiply Ti/Hi of a pallet)
* Ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner to fellow team members
* Ability to comply with all WFM policies and procedures
* Previous distribution experience in Food/Grocery distribution is preferred
* Experience working with an electric/motorized ride on standing pallet jack (either single or double) or forklift
* Computer experience desired
* Ability to perform physical requirements of position
* Demonstrated ability to operate all necessary equipment
* Meets all customer service expectation and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors and fellow team members
* Ability to complete all tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner
* Working understanding of and compliance with all WFM quality goals, and thorough product knowledge
* Demonstrated responsibility and accountability in recognizing and accomplishing all tasks
* Attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
* Accuracy and exceptional organizational skills.
* Ability to use the following equipment: pallet jack/rider, scissor lift, sit-down Nissan, forklift, phone, computer, and personal protective equipment.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, documents and reports generated from warehouse management software.
* Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
* Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Distribution Center, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Desired Work Experiences
* Some warehouse experience preferred
* Must at least be 18 years of age

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
* Regularly lift cases up to 50 lbs, occasionally lift cases up to 70 lbs (with team lift suggested for weights more than 70 lbs)
* Work in a cold/wet storage facility environment (ranging from -10 (freezer) to 46 degrees Fahrenheit). General warehouse temps 34-46 degrees, Freezer 0-10 degrees.
* Regularly getting on and off powered equipment, stepping on and off throughout shift.
* Ability to: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
* Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks
* Average shifts are 10 hours long
* Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Team Members receive their schedule up to 3 weeks in advance.

The wage range for this position is $20.00-$36.00 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
