Job Title: CNC Programmer / Set-Up / Operator
Shift: 8- 10 hour shifts / Flexibility with days/start times
Wage: $3 0 .00/hour, increase to $40-$50/hour pending performance
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC professional to program, set up, and operate our Makino A81 horizontal machining center. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Mastercam software, strong knowledge of machining practices, and the ability to work independently to produce precision parts that meet quality and productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Programming:
    • Create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for the Makino A81 horizontal machining center.
    • Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds for various materials and part geometries.
    • Generate and verify tool paths to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Set-Up:
    • Set up Makino A81 CNC machine, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets.
    • Load and secure raw materials.
    • Perform machine calibrations and alignments as required.
  • Operation:
    • Operate the Makino A81 with pallet changer to produce precision components to print specifications.
    • Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
    • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
    • Maintain clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent work history
  • Proven experience programming with Mastercam for CNC horizontal machining centers.
  • 2+ years experience with Makino A81 or similar horizontal machining centers with pallet changers preferred.
  • Preferably has knowledge of plastic injection mold making techniques
  • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC machining processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols.
  • Proficient with precision measurement tools and quality inspection processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
