Job Summary

Drafts existing conditions and prepares proposed plans and elevations for interior projects. Duties will include drawing up building plan and modifying designs throughout the project's development. Coordinates with other Getty departments to incorporate their systems' needs, such as Getty Digital and Getty Security. Gathers design requirements and specifications. Reviews shop drawing submittals and provides comments. Tracks projects' early phases from concept through construction documents.



Major Job Responsibilities

    Assists the design team by researching and preparing concept images based on individual Program needs
  • Drafts floorplans, elevations, and details into AutoCAD and/or Revit for schematic and design development phases of project planning
  • Designs millwork for office and commercial purposes, including plans, elevations, sections, and millwork construction details
  • Sources and specifies fixtures, finishes, and furnishings
  • Reviews shop drawing submittals
  • Reviews 3rd party architectural schematic and design development drawing sets
  • Develops conceptual space planning and office floor plan schematics
  • Works with furniture systems companies for office interior designs. Reviews proposed designs and recommends modifications in accordance with Getty requirements
  • The ability to multi-task is a must, managing, collaborating, and supporting the team on a variety of project types, phases, and scales
  • Provides interior design support for architectural projects, including drafting and specifications
  • Manages and organizes materials library, in collaboration with interior design team/interns, etc.
  • Meets with departments within Getty and outside consultants to coordinate project designs and scope


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field
  • Accredited in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture
  • 3-5 years of experience in interior design and construction administration for interior architectural projects
  • Fluent in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office Suite, Revit experience desired but not required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while effectively meeting deadlines
  • Strong conceptual and schematic design skills
  • General knowledge and understanding of IBC/IRC
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with individuals across the organization, external consultants, and contractors
  • Knowledge of furniture, materials and building finishes
  • A strong understanding of the phases of a typical design project
    Knowledge of industrial design and architectural practices, including life/safety and ADA regulations
  • Ability to work independently on projects
  • Understanding of or desire to learn about furniture procurement is a plus
  • Must have an interest in working on existing building projects
