We are looking for a Senior Advisor Safety for the Kennecott Mine. This role is designed for a seasoned safety professional, to use your operational and technical knowledge combined with your interpersonal skills to effectively partner with various stakeholders at the mine site. You will be responsible for safety improvement projects and provide guidance to senior and safety leaders on best practices.

You'll be part of a high performing team, supported by your Manager to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.

Reporting to the Manager HSE, you will:

  • Act as subject matter expert for standard working groups to identify and mitigate operational hazards.
  • Oversee Critical Risk Management and Injury Prevention initiatives.
  • Conduct and facilitate various risk assessments (TRACK, JHA, L2RA).
  • Use data and field insights to identify trends and drive operational improvements
  • Increase site safety maturity using the Safety Maturity Model and Keep Each Other Safe Program.
  • Support the Leadership in Field (LIF) framework to enhance frontline engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety legislation.
  • Serve as liaison between regulatory bodies and operational teams.
  • Support the integration of new or updated regulatory standards.
  • Support the management of incidents at the asset.
  • Oversee injury management and return-to-work coordination.
  • Facilitate investigations and support timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Conduct assurance activities to validate the effectiveness of HSE systems and controls.
  • Support cross functional deliverables within safety, health & environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in HSE management, preferably in a mining, construction, or other industrial environment.
  • Sound understanding of safety management systems and their practical application
  • Excellent knowledge of regulations and best practices, including expertise in HSE regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Effective communication, engagement and influencing skills
  • Dynamic & inspirational leadership capability.
  • Ability to be a trusted & influential thought partner for the HSESC team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm demeanor under pressure
  • Ability to perform risk assessments & incident investigations
  • Ability to operate in a business environment with tight deadlines and heavy deliverables
