Summary/ Objective:

Performs and leads a variety of tasks in support of warehousing functions which include but are not limited to: shipping, receiving, and wire cutting with a focus on quality, productivity, output and customer service standards.

Essential Functions:



  • Performs and directs a variety of tasks including preparing, picking, packing, staging, and shipping of material in a timely and accurate manner
  • Communicate expectations to team
  • Maintain an organized work area
  • Maintain high customer service levels
  • Measure and address the effectiveness and productivity of the warehouse team
  • Monitor and coach accuracy of work performed by warehouse team
  • Resolve problems and answer questions
  • May participate in the hiring and onboarding process
  • Answer communication regarding your area within 24 hours
  • Verify the work done in your area of responsibility is performed correctly and in accordance with existing Work Instructions.
  • Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out safety activities to include ensuring compliance with safety policy and ensuring employee training is conducted.
  • Provide training and coaching to improve performance


Competencies:



  • Hands-on dedication to training team members and championing new ideas
  • Efficient supervisory techniques and skills
  • A strong background in warehouse operations including, shipping, receiving, delivery and inventory control
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft office and Warehouse Management Systems.


Supervisory Responsibility:



  • There are no direct reports for this position. This role does require leading a team of Warehouse Associates.


Work Environment:

This job operates primarily in warehouse environment. Varying temperatures and moving equipment are present in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have:



  • the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, push/pull) weight up to 75lbs unassisted
  • The ability to climb a ladder
  • The ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and various warehousing machinery/tools
  • Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Travel:

This position does not include overnight or branch travel.

Clearances and Certifications:



  • Background check is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Forklift certified or the ability to become Forklift Certified is required


Education and Experience:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
