Position Summary

Instructing classroom and hands-on application of Oceaneering Marine Service Division (MSD) Trades training in support of Submarine, DDS and Manufacturing product lines.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist the Training Manager in conducting Basic Indoctrination, Trades Training and SUBSAFE/SOC Craftsman training for all new hire OII-MSD employees in accordance with their job description and requirements.
  • Design, deliver and develop training on submarine mechanical systems and repair, including structural, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Lead classroom instruction, laboratory demonstrations and hands-on shop training sessions.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through theoretical tests, practical projects and real-time simulations.
  • Ensure compliance with military/naval safety protocols, industry standards and company processes at all times.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students, fostering a collaborative and respectful learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in submarine technology and repair practices, integrating new knowledge into course content.
  • Assist with the development of online, blended and remote learning materials as required.
  • Participate in ongoing program review and quality assurance processes.
  • Develop training as a result of audit and surveillance findings and HSSE issues and incidents.
  • Assist in conducting hourly certification training and qualifications for OII-MSD employees to include but not limited to: shipyard competent person certification, respirator protection qualification, rigging qualification, forklift operator certification, overhead crane operator certification, Oxygen Clean Worker, and working at heights.
  • Maintain training resources, equipment and tooling in excellent working condition.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Training/Education or five (5) yrs. experience developing/delivering training in an industrial or military environment.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a submarine and/or ship repair environment or military training experience.
  • Must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of submarine/surface ship repair, SUBSAFE/SOC, NAVSEA, OSHA and related governmental agency requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to develop/design material that addresses different learning styles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.
  • Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles and values, etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.
  • Ability to work with other departments to determine updated training requirements.
